Nashville’s own Led Zeppelin tribute, “Ned Zeppelin” is not your typical tribute band. Leaving the wigs and costumes out of the show, a Ned Zeppelin concert “feels” and more importantly “sounds” like the real thing. In Music City USA you can’t get away with looking the part and not sounding it. There simply is no tolerance for poorly executed cover material. When performing for an audience full of singers, players, celebrities, and industry professionals, every last musical detail must be given the care an attention it deserves. A room full of aspiring Robert Plants and Jimmy Pages will settle for nothing less.

Not being intimidated by the critical ears of the local audience, Ned Zeppelin has been making big waves in Nashville’s local scene. Playing primarily at Nashville’s premier rock venue, The Mercy Lounge, Ned Zeppelin has quickly built an audience out of its peers. The success of the bands early efforts were fueled in part by vocalist Chris Mitchell’s participation in the wildly successful “Led Zeppelin You Bitch!” a late 90’s tribute that played to sold out rooms in Nashville’s famous 12th & Porter and earned Mitchell a solid reputation as one of Nashville’s best rock vocalists. Later Mitchell would perform more Zeppelin tunes with one of Nashville’s most elite ensembles, The Long Players.

In 2007 Mitchell crossed paths with bassist Paul Arntz and conversations began about planning a new Zeppelin tribute. The addition of guitarists Matt Basford and Gabriel Love, and drummer Derek Wolford in 2009 completed the lineup and a grueling rehearsal schedule began. The result is what keeps a town full of professional musicians coming back to hear more.
